Can you believe this? Caught on camera! Two young wanna-be gangsters, aged 12 and 13, tried to rob a bank with toy guns.
According to SkyNews, two boys, aged 12 and 13, have appeared in court accused of trying to rob a bank using toy guns.
The youngsters fled without any cash after apparently losing their nerve, according to police.
The boys, wearing hooded tops, were thought to have been pictured on CCTV entering the premises in the Tel Aviv suburb of Rishon Lezion.
YnetNews reported that one of the suspects appeared to have a schoolbag on his back and what was thought to be a rifle in his hand.
Police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said both were carrying fake M-16 assault rifles and they shouted “this is a hold-up”.
“They were toy guns but they looked real. The people in the bank were scared, but then the suspects ran out without taking any money,” Sky News reported him saying.
Security camera footage showed the boys, wearing hooded sweatshirts, entering the bank in Rishon Lezion, a suburb of Tel Aviv on Wednesday. One had a schoolbag on his back and what appeared to be a rifle in his hand.
“We did it as a joke,” one of the said after being arrested.
The two were arrested after they were identified through surveillance footage and reportedly spent a night at the police station.
