North Carolina Flags Lowered to Half-Staff to Honor the Marines Murdered in Chattanooga

Governor Pat McCrory ordered the lowering of North Carolina flags to half-staff to honor the victims murdered in the shooting attacks at military facilities in Chattanooga, TN.

News2 reported the flags being lowered where for the four United States Marines and a United States Navy petty officer that were killed in what’s being investigated as an act of domestic terrorism.

“We are eternally grateful for the risks and sacrifices the men and women of our military bear each time they put on the uniform, regardless of where they serve,”Governor McCrory said.


“All of North Carolina is heartbroken over the tragedy in Chattanooga. We are praying for the victims and their families, as well as for the safety of every American soldier, marine, airman, sailor and those serving in the Coast Guard, here in North Carolina and throughout the world.”
