Several former friends and acquaintances of the lesbian waitress from New Jersey who claimed she was stiffed on a tip because she was a lesbian, say that evidence Dayna Morales made up the whole story isn’t surprising: she has a long history of fabricating similar, and even more elaborate, stories about herself.
Samantha Reidy, former lesbian partner of Morales told The Journal News “She lies about everything.”
Morales claimed that a couple she served handed her a receipt with no tip and a note that said, “I’m sorry but I cannot tip because I do not agree with your lifestyle and how you live your life.”

She posted a photo of the fake receipt to a “gay-themed” Facebook page, and it was picked up by the media, after which her story went viral. Several people screamed “homophobia” and “hate” and attacked religious people and conservatives over this fake “hate crime”.
Morales received a flood of support, including up to $3,000 cash that she claimed she would donate to the Wounded Warrior Project.
But Morales’ story began to unravel, just like several other fake “hate crimes”, when the couple, recognizing the much-publicized restaurant receipt as their own, came forward with evidence that they had left a tip, and saying they had left no such note.
They produced a credit card statement that appeared to validate the story, showing the cost of the meal plus a 20 percent tip. (In which is considered above the average tip amount.)
Former co-workers and friends have now come forward with accounts of the elaborate lies that they say Morales tells to get attention and sympathy.
The Journal News reported that Morales allegedly told co-workers from a daycare that Super storm Sandy had hurled a boat through her living room wall. Yet when her friends when by her house they found no damage to confirm her story.
A former acquaintance of Morales, Julie Howat, said “Every story she comes up with has a lie.”
Howat mentioned how Morales loved to tell people her war stories about how she survived an explosion that killed her entire platoon when she was a Marine in Afghanistan.
But Major Shawn Haney, a spokesman for the Marines, , said in an email to The Journal News that while Morales did serve in the Marine Reserve Corps, she was dishonorably discharged in May after not showing up for drills.
“There is no indication of combat service in Iraq or Afghanistan,” he wrote.
The Daily Caller News Foundation was informed by another acquaintance that Morales once told her that her dad had raped her and got her pregnant. When no child appeared, Morales allegedly said that the baby died due to an infection caused by cervical cancer.
Morales has denied fabricating the writing on the receipt, saying she does not know how it appeared.
Life Site News reported on a growing list of hate-crime hoaxes perpetrated by the LGBT movement on a populace sympathetic to the rally cry of “homophobia” and “discrimination”.
The Gallop Asian Bistro, which at first defended Morales, is now running its own investigation.
