When Terry McGlade, a Marine veteran, collapsed from a seizure, his trained rescue dog Major reacted quickly to save the day. Amazingly, the lab-pit bull mix pulled McGlade’s phone from his pocket and stepped on the screen for several seconds until it called 911.
While Major never barked during the calls, the dispatchers say they became suspicious when they got multiple calls from the same number and heard a man in the background who sounded confused.
Major waited at the curb for the emergency responders to arrive and then led them to where McGlade had collapsed.
McGlade, who served in Afghanistan and Iraq, got his dog Major two years ago. His dog has been trained to sense when McGlade is going to have a seizure and helps him cope with his PTSD.

After the incident, McGlade spent a night in the hospital, but he said he’s doing much better now.
