40 Sheriff’s Walk Out of State House After Senator Demands They Disarm

won't disarm

Sheriffs and legislators in Oklahoma have an annual meet and greet where they come together and discuss the needs of the state. They also use this time as an opportunity to just to get to know each other a little better. This years meet and greet took place at the same location it had in previous years, the Oklahoma State Capitol.

One thing was different this year though. An senator that remained anonymous requested that all the sheriffs be asked to disarm. Even in Oklahoma, the anti second amendment fever seems to be spreading.

Once being told to disarm, the sheriffs didn’t comply. They knew it was their right to bear arms. They then decided that it was time to end the meeting and all forty walked out.

The Wagoner County Sheriff Bob Colbert was a little annoyed, as were the others. “We’re the people that protect these people,” he said, “If the state troopers are satisfied that we’re ok in that building I’m pretty sure that the legislators should have something else to worry about such as the economy or something.”
